Win Or Go Home!

  • It’s here. It’s what we wanted. It’s OKC Vs Miami. It’s Durant Vs Lebron. It’s the Thunder Vs the Heat. It’s the West Vs the East. It’s the NBA Finals.

For both the Heat & the Thunder, the road to the finals has been one hell of a ride. Dispatching legends behind them in the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers & San Antonio Spurs & sweeping the defending champions (Dallas Mavericks) in the process, but all that counts for nothing once the tip off at 9pm EST starts.

For Miami, they’ve been here before, not too long ago; last season.

Without a doubt the most scrutinized team ever since ‘the decision’ & the get together of the big 3; the Miami Heat are on a mission for redemption this year. So far, so good.

Many forget, the BIG 3 in Miami are still the BIG 3. The MVP of the league is still Lebron James. The question is can they take their place as the league’s best? Or is it going to be another long summer for the BIG 3?

OKC on the other hand are new to this. This is a team that has grown exceptionally over the last 3 years. From being eliminated by the Lakers, in the first round, in 2010 (who went on to win it). Then Dallas last year in the conference finals (who also went on to win it). Now, in 2012, they’re in the finals, for the first time in their history. Can they win it all? Or do they need one more year to ‘mature’ fully?

For critics, fans & analysts; the question this whole season has been who is the best player in the NBA?

Some, like Skip Bayless, believe it’s Durant..

..others, like Sir Charles, believe its LeBron.

These playoffs both players have elevated their games to another level with some thrilling displays.

Durant’s 4th quarter against San Antonio.

Or when LeBron went, LeBron Vs Boston?

So far LeBron is 1-0. Why? Because he’s the MVP. Simple. But like LeBron said, that’s not the award he wants. That counts for nothing when the last whistle of the season is blown. What matters is who wins & how they did it. For many, this is the decider, whoever wins this doesn’t just win the trophy; he’s the NBA’s best.

Without a doubt, the main headliners are Durant & LeBron but there are so many major factors. Dwayne Wade, Russel Westbrook, James Harden & Chris Bosh; the ying to their yangs.

LeBron is Batman, Wade is Robin. Without Wade coming out of the shadows in the Pacers series, who knows what would have happened?

Durant is Westbrook, Westbrook is Durant. There really isn’t any other way to describe these two. They drive each other to excel every game & despite what critics may have you believe, they trust each other. Durant scored the dagger 3 against the Lakers in Game 4, but Westbrook was undeniably the MVP of that series.

Harden’s 4th quarter displays this playoff has been without a doubt key to OKC’s success thus far. Who can forget when he did this against the Spurs?

Or Bosh’s pivotal 3’s against Boston in Game 7? Bosh has been injured for the most part of these playoffs but he’s ready to go. He will play in the Finals.

These players count & their performances would be key to the outcome of these series.

So there you have it, on this corner the kings of the game(Miami), on the other, the kids from Oklahoma that want to take the throne. It’s Kid Clutch Vs the KING. The NBA Finals tip off tonight. Who is BIG?
